OS X is one of the least secure of all the OSs, it's their current obscurity that keeps them safe. It's the old adage about what doesn't kill you.

Anti-virus software is free from many sources, and when I say I've never had one I mean that software has never once notified or blocked a virus.
Windows 7 is far more capable than OS X, but being jack of all trades is harder than master of one. Like I said slick product, but far too limited in their capabilities for me.
