I have used Macs to produce the magazine since 1985 and have used PC's at work since 1998.

I tend to use my computers a long time. The Mac G4 I am currently using is eight years old. I need to move to a new one just because I would like to adopt newer software; that requires a newer operating system that will not run on the G4.

I have never had a virus. I do run an antivirus software, but have never had one. Many friends with PC's have had virus problems multiple times.

In using PC's at work since 1998 I have had lots of problems with my computers and have witnessed lots of problems with coworker's computers. Lots of software issues and some hardware issues. I have never had any problems with any Mac I have owned since 1985.

The cost somewhat more, but if you compare them functional feature to functional feature, and factor in how troublesome PC's usually are, it is worth the purchase price.

I am well familiar with PC's and have used them for a wide range of software, but I would never have a PC for the magazine or any other home use.

And, now that Mac has the Intel versions, you can run PC software.

That raises the Mac enthusiast's reply to comments about running PC software on a Mac.

"Why?"
