original 48 bracket

I have an original LH bracket of of a 48 that has a slight bend. It was in the cab when I got the truck and was apparently removed from the truck by some force. ha ha It ripped the weld nuts out of the stake pockets.
What is the best way to try to straighten it without breaking it? Is it possible?
I think it is cast iron (not bronze) based on the year.
