I am hoping that some of the members on this forum can shed some light on my clutch issue that I have run into head first..and am exhausted from banging my head against. I have a '48 B1 that is running the '46-'51 "crash box" 4-speed with the 10" 3 finger pressure plate.

I have had the truck for about 10 years and about 2 months ago was finally in need of a clutch....it's first in almost 60 years! I had acquired all the necessary components for the replacement and installation was rather cut and dry. Upon completion however, my friend and I who has been helping me with this, we can't get the transmission into gear. When the transfer case in shifted into HIGH and 4-WHEEL DRIVE disengaged, the transmission CANNOT be shifted into gear with the clutch depressed....it simply grinds gears. We have adjusted the clutch in and out to no avail. The clutch is apparently not disengaging regardless if it is adjusted properly (with 1 1/8" of free play) or not.

WE are both baffled, can anyone shed some light on this?
