Look at the photos in the following links. IT shows the same overpass and one right next to it. These photos show that the support columns and beams are fine. The roadbed did not have sufficiently large perches and they were not tied to the support beam.

The last picture shows another overpass that failed due to a small perch and no ties. It is really interesting that both of theses overpasses has a twin right next to them that did not fail.
