Rim definition??

I asked this question down below, in the thread on split ring/rim. I asked Clint this question, but he probably didn't see it.
What, technically is a "split rim"?
I have these converted military rims on my W500. They were called "beadlocks" when I bought them. They are two pieces, joined together by the 38 bolts in the center, with a large rubber O ring between, allowing me to run the tubeless Michelins. Are these technically "split rims"?
