I am sure CC Sammy is building nice beds, but if you add up the parts it will cost $3,000 for the bedsides, $600 for the rear fenders, $350 for the cross members, and then you have to go to other sources to buy the $300 header panel, and $600 tailgate

That is about $5,000 with other misc bits like bolts and tailgate chains, tailgate hinges, rubber pads for the cross members, etc.

If you buy a truck with a reasonable bed and the drivetrain for $4,000 you are way ahead from the $1,000 truck you are looking at.

There is nothing worse than starting with a truck that is missing a lot of parts like the engine if you don't have other trucks to use as a pattern. Guys who have 5 trucks can build an engine less one in a weekend, but if you only have the one you may spend a lot of time just hunting down small brackets, and other bits.

If the body is clean, and the fenders, running boards, etc are included $1,000 may not be bad. But given that is had a big plow on it, there is a lot missing, and it is located in a state were rust is a problem, I would check it over very carefully before I dropped $1,000 on it.

Just my opinion from the very limited images.

Eric
