My manual for my 74 says the 525 box which covers D100,200,300 and W100,200 and is manual
Shows worm bearing preload 5-8 inch pounds and gear lash as 16 max inch pounds and the worm lock nut at 85foot pounds.
The 708 box which is power steering shows.....
4-5 inch pounds (old gear)
4-8 inch pounds (new gear)
Gear lash 14 max inch pounds (old gear)
and 18 max on (new gear)
