Absolutely right on that... you have to fight these guys. Get the most bloodthirsty lawyer you can find and turn him loose.
Something else you might want to try, contact the local media, i.e. radio, tv news, newspaper... here in Houston there is at least one reporter at each tv station who "stands up for the little guy", plead your case to anyone who will listen.
If it was me I would be out for blood, it's the principle of the matter at stake... just makes me really angry thinking about it... Good luck and keep us posted.
