It's not the hole through the front cross-member that worries me, since that piece is basically a box beam where most of the load is carried by the top and bottom plates. The one That I weakened severely is the radiator support. That's a shallow U-channel, and I cut the whole bottom out of the U. Any kind of brace or gusset I'd put in there would have to either be bolted in and removable, or a very long way away from the cut in order to have room to angle the drive line up through it from the front and then down and clear everything to get it back to the PTO. It's not like I can just slide it straight back with the winch and bumper in the way.
