window sweep clips

The window sweep clips that were sold to me (by VPW or Roberts, can't remember) look exactly like the clips for the door bottom gasket.
The problem is they work well for the gasket, but don't hold the sweeps well at all. When the window is rolled up, it pops the sweep loose of the clip, even when I try and squeeze the clip down hard first.
Is the clip for the sweep different? What secret am I missing? Thanks.
