Air cleaner to hood clearance

The carb. on my 251 is equipped w/ a govenor at it's base, which in increases the overall ht. of this unit @2". The problem is the oil bath air cleaner I found, will not fit w/ the hood closed. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jack McDevitt.
