A few things, if I read the first part of your post right??

1989-1993 1st Gen trucks NEVER had a 3.9L 4BT, they ALL had a 5.9 6-cyl. They Never changed the HP or Torque in the 1989-1993 years or the specs Never varied with model year. Weather the truck had a auto trans or manual trans , they were all 160hp @2500 and 400 lb.ft @ 1700 rpm

The intercooler was a Mid year 1991 thing and didnt change the HP at Tq all, in fact the 1991.5-1993 trucks had a true 160 hp. the earlier 1989-1991 trucks had 190 hp injectors factory, and even though the 1989-1991 trucks were advertised at 160 Hp, they in fact had more.

The intercooler was NOT added to increase HP or TQ, it was addded to reduce reduce emissions, and they put smaller injectors in them at the same time to help, and a lager turbo.

1994-1995 they changed things a bit and the auto trans trucks had less power then the manual trcuks they were 5.9L Cummins Auto Trans 160 hp @ 2500 rpm, and 400 lb-ft @ 1500 rpm. Manual Trans were 175 hp @ 2,600
2,600 and 420 lb-ft @ 1,500

1996-1998 Manual Trans 215 hp @ 2,600
440 lb-ft @ 1500-1600 and Auto Trans 180 hp @ 2500 and 420 lb-ft @ 1500

1998.5-2000 24 vavle trucks Auto Trans
215 hp @ 2700 420 lb-ft @ 1600 Manual Trans 235 hp @ 2700, 460 lb-ft @ 1600

I cant remember without digging out my 2001 and 2002 sales brochure's but the HO (high output) trucks with the 6 speed had more HP and TQ.
