Most, perhaps all, Budd wheels are stamped with the last two digits of the year of they were manufactured. "48" here means Budd built these PW wheels in 1948. A subtle yet nice restoration touch is to have all 5 wheels stamped with the year of the truck. Numerous tires changes after a truck leaves the facory typically results in a mix of different years stamped into the wheels.
