I just acquired a 47 WDX from Montana that has very little paint remaining. Much of the exterior is a smooth rust color, with no pitting. I need to put a temporary protective coating on it, as it is a little humid down here on the river. I don't have the time right now to do the necessary bodywork (dents and dings). Since much of the protective coating will come off later, is it OK to use Rustoleum spray cans to prime and a sealer finish coat now, or should I go ahead and use a self-etching primer and sealer now?
