There are some interesting discussions on the merits of the Unimog further down below.

I'll admit that I really know very little about the vehicle.

I am currently sifting through information I have collected over the past 20 or so years in the hopes of writing a magazine article covering trucks that were also marketed as a tractor. This would include the Crosley FarmOroad at the small end of the scale, the WDX-WM300 Power-Wagon at the larger end, as well as those in between (I can not mention them here as some have a name that amounts to a four letter word).

I would like to focus mainly on those vehicles made in North America and not try to include all those made across the globe, but I am interested in learning more about the Unimog. I do understand that they have been equipped with rear PTO tailshafts and 3-point implement hitches over the years. These are the optional accessories that I am most interested in.

Would anyone have a good source for this information, or care to share what you might have in your own collection?

Thanks,

Junior
