Is it a full "drive by wire"?

What controls the butterfly valve?

Granted, I'm not up on the latest by any means but all the older gasser EFI systems still used a mechanical connection(usually a cable) from the accel pedal to the valve that controls the airflow into the engine, most commonly a "butterfly" valve(s). Thus it doesn't matter what the ECM does, if the engine can't get air, it can't "take off". So on this Toyota system the butterfly is controlled via servo or similar?

Just curious...

Ken
