Firefox definitely is the fix for IE problems. As a developer of applications that run on the web, I sincerely hope you change to Firefox or Chrome and I'm not a major anti-MS type.

However, on the subject of IE Google issues, I do have an old machine that a few months ago got a virus or something that nothing I ran could detect; not AdAware, Spybot, MalwareBytes, nor my subscribed TrendMicro. Yet, it certainly existed. What it caused was every other click on Google went to an ad site. After I installed some script blocking software it would just hang on that every other click. So it was click, than click to reload and it would work. Like I said, nothing I ran could find anything wrong but it was there.
