any size you want. do the led conversion (cheaper to do the conversion than buy it led + you can use the reg bulb as a spare) and feed with d cells. you get tons of hours out of it before the batteries go. you have to determine what is cheaper for you. i change my batteries about once a year with my use which is cheaper than a really good rechargeable unit. the ones the firemen use are good, but they are crazy bulky. i use the back my 8 cell maglight as a tire thumper and have had no problems. my switch went bad after 10 years & maglight replaced it free.
