My wife and I travel this road all the time. We go camping in that area all year long. There is often something happening on this road. It is in a narrow steep sided canyon with just the river and the road taking up the whole valley. There are often debris flows off the mountain sides or the read is washed out by the river. The valley has be come less stable since there was a fire in the 90's. A lot of the tree are gone that held the rain from washing down the hill.
