At 800 RPM, the coil on a V-8 fires 12,800 times.
At 800 RPM, the coil on a 6 cyl fires 9,600 times.

So the tack expects 12,800 pulses for to display 800, the 6 cylinder would have to be running 1,067 RPM to send that many pulses, or at 800 RPM, the tack would read 600 RPM
