Yea it really did suck, especially the winch, at that point in time I had decided to go diesel, so wasn't to distraght about the engine. However looking back, it's just what I need now. Don't really want to put a ford in a dodge even though it's really an IH. A friend of mine told me his dad worked for IH for years and that the 7.3 is in reality a gas block converted to diesel like the gm so it's really not a true diesel design. Sounds like they did a better job than gm though given that this is the true scenario.

I'm just considering it as an option at this point in time. I really want two trucks, if my land sells(I got some bites) then I want to buy one of those 6X6 in the classified and then I want to go to Panama and have a look. It should be crawling with m37s and hopefully ff as I like the style of ff more better, plus I don't think they are aware of the value of these trucks yet so there may be some steals. I'll let you know when and if I make a sale and then maybe you could join me and we could go hunting.

All I have left of my 63 wm is the transfer case the hood and fenders and the cab, but since I had bought a cummins 6 to put in her and the floor was kind of iffy, the body shop next to my old wood shop welded in skid plate steel for a floor, and the cab has some other issues, plus I sold the axles to a friend because times were tuff so I need a parts truck or two. The hood and fenders are good. I could always put a bus body or other type of body up to the front cowl though and this is an option. I have an old chevy van and was thinking about mating her to the front cowl maybe move it up on the fenders a tad cut it off behind the first back seat making a crew cab over and then putting a bed on it. I'd really like to have three, one all original, a crew cab and a 6X6. I figure if you never have a dream, you'll never have one come true. Plus what else are you gonna do, besides work and surf. Hopefully you have a female companion to help you thru all of this, but that's a tall order on today's market
