M37 transmission has synchros on 3rd and 4th. Civilian doesn't, as far as I know, though maybe at some point (probably after 1954) they started putting the synchro tranny in the civvie truck. With no cover plate, rust could be a big problem. Figure on replacing the bearings, unless it was kept inside and dry.
