Hi Copey,
You asked about the 9x16 Michelins, but everyone is answering about the 11x16s. In the 9x16 there does not seem to be much advantage to other easily obtained tires. However, the advantage comes with the 11x16s. As AAA said, they look good on the trucks, and are mil surplus which is cool. I have 5:83 gears in my truck, a 318 poly and a Dennan Overdrive. The combination of the tall tires, overdrive, and a power plant with enough stones to move it down the road works very well. I had it on the interstate this summer and on a long flat crept it up to 70. Engine wasnt screaming, if I remember it was turning around 2200. As soon as I touched 70 on the GPS, I backed it back to a more calm 55. The tranny is n NP435, with a creeper 1st gear. So, I have good highway speeds and I can creep along offroad. So, I think the tires are only part of the equation.
Tim
