Yeah, it seems most of the OD versions were put in Travelalls which makes sense considering the aforementioned ratio gap that can make it a difficult trans to work with under a heavy load. The Loadstars usually got T35 or T36 if they were being equipped with one of these transmissions.

I think it is IH made but was a "purchased" design from Fuller or Clark or some such, but perhaps not. I have a T34 and couple of T35s and T495 which is the last version(they started with unsynchronized T30/T31/T32 in the '50s). Similarly, the axles under my B140 were made by IH, but were copies(legally done so) from Eaton. The brake drums have Eaton cast in but the axles were definitely made by IH with bearing differences being a change from the versions Eaton produced, as far as I know.

Another tidbit about the IH FA50/RA20 combo is that, as with the 9 5/8 Chrysler axles, the third members are indentical. The lug pattern on mine was 5 on 8. It is a good truck with a rather-large-for-a-pickup Rockwell T223 transfer case
