You mentioned that the "PICTURES" show preload the bearings. To quote you: "Those pictures only show setting pinion preload, or anything else. It does not address pinion depth. There is a whole lot to do in setting up a 3rd member correctly.......so it will last.

I wanted to make sure that everyone understood that the "SPACERS" did not effect pinion depth.

I realized that you got the point, but I wanted to get it closer to the beginning of the thread, thinking that people might miss it further down. I also mentioned your name to give you credit for the images. It seemed to me that the general feeling of the whole thread was that it was moving in the direction of readers mistakenly thinking that pinion depth was adjustable with the spacers in the images.
