Well, now I KNOW that it can be done without any severe work. I was thinking basically a totally stock 440 with just a cam swap (nothing radical, just specially designed for the weight/gear ratio/use of the truck) would provide a good 500 ft.lbs of torque, and since it'd never get turned more than 4000 RPM, would last forever. I'd only be driving it maybe 500 miles a year, TOPS. The rest of the time, it'd be in my garage, out of the weather. I figure if I live another 50 years (I'm 33), it would last that long if I took care of it. Thanks a million!
