I bought the Hydroboost system for my Carryall from a well known and very customer driven company They changed and were no longer customer driven, prices rose to the absurd. I decided to find the needed parts to duplicate a factory hydroboost system. In so doing, I picked the 1991 Chevy, V3500. Its a 1 ton truck, Chevy designed the hydroboost to meet those requirements. Using the Chevy V3500, the NAPA Master Cylinder is 39435 and features a (JD-8) 1 & 5/16" Bore, $47.88 The Matching Chevy V3500 Hydroboost unit is NAPA 52-7307, $142.99.

You will need to buy the intermediate push rod from Chevy. The Hydroboost does not come with a push rod, spring & baffle. The Chevy PN's are as follows;

Push Rod 377397
Spring P15581525
Spring 471736
Baffle 360859
Total cost of the Chevy parts is $49.00

On top of these prices, you will need to have the hydraulic hoses made. My local NAPA makes my hoses. Actually this is better than being supplied so called 'universal' lengths.
My hoses are custom made for my specific application.

Bandit, Bumblebee and Smokey have the Chevy V3500 system. Braking is equal to my Dodge RAM CTD.

One thing to keep in mind, you WILL need to fab a mount for the hydroboost. This mount mounts the Hydroboost to the firewall. Simple, no rocket science on this mount. In most cases, you will also need to shorten the
pedal to hydroboost push rod. I cut the rod, thread it to 3/8"x24 use a coupler with lock nuts so I have adjustment.

Thats it, you have saved HUNDREDS of dollars, and have a custom install.

Keep in mind, all hydroboost units are NOT the same. Different models have different output pressures. You must use a system designed for the weight class your going to put it on. Thats why I went with Chevy V3500. Some people are using Hydroboost from Astro Vans........not even close to the weight class of our Old Iron.

All prices are what I paid within the past few months for the system on Smokey. I do get some very good pricing, but your prices will not be out in left field.

KEEP IN MIND.....ALL part numbers are for a
1991 Chevy V3500
