doesnt ford run a small rear brake shoe back in those years? like 12 x 2 or so? The 60s Dodge 300 series run the 13 x 2.5s and stop great for me. But I have to agree the hydro systems provide huge stopping power but replacment costs are higher and potential failure of the hydraulic system is a factor. Vacuum are simple and last longer.
