I purchased some items from Vulcan; a VP44, a big line kit, and a Raptor transfer pump. All of the fittings are like that.
The literature says it is a good idea to have a heat gun to heat the hose so you can better push it on the barb. I found that just a shot of spray silicone and clamping the fitting in the vise allowed me to push the hose on by hand with no heat [in my shop, which I had heated to about 60 degrees]. It is a different matter lying under the truck, however. No clamps are called for with these parts.
Vulcan has good customer service, a good phone presence, and I would deal with them again, should need arise.
