They work by virtue of being larger O.D. than usual fittings. I use hose clamps anyhow. And get po'd that I can't get the hose off to change things around. Have to slit the hose to get it off.
I don't think I would use them clamp-less under pressure, but then I don't use any rubber hose under pressure, and neither does any OE manufacturer.
Glad you are using brass fittings, not hacking the end off the steel line and famming it into the rubber, shredding the inside and causing numerous rubber-shreds-in-the-fuel-supply problems later.
