i used to pack the oil pump with petrolium jelly then seal the pump up > used to take out the distrubuter find a drive put it in a drill and spin the pump till the drill created positive pressure in the engine > then install distributer and start and watch the oil pressure gauge and fill with coolant pre mix /antifeeze slowly to get the air out > then check for circulation of the coolant and keep checking oil pressure ?> be nice to have a master gauge on the oil pressure > i keep a oil can handy and i squirt a FEW drops of oil in the carb for the first few minutes should be good to go ~ Copey
