Electric ones are used in drag racers to keep them on the line until the flag drops.

Far as I know, Mico is the only manual one. Used in tow trucks to keep all four wheels locked against a winch pull. they do leak down in a dew minutes, hence they are NFG as a psrking brake, and do nothing in the case of a hydraulic failure, so also NFG as an 'emergency brake'.
