I was hoping to make it safe at those speeds, I will not drive faster than it is safe. I was hoping that with the new engine, new dana S110 rear axle, updated suspension and tires that it would be safe. I will be boxing the frame to handle the power and give more rigidity.

I am not trying to race this thing, but I do like to keep up with traffic. Most of the time it will be running around town, rarely will it see past 65 but I just want to make it safe for 80 so I know I can go 65...

Safety is a huge part of this build, I am looking at every aspect. The engine is heavier so I need to beef up the suspension, it has more torque so I will box the frame, it will need to be able to stop so I will update the brakes, with the extra torque going through the differential I want to upgrade that to handle it... I want it to appear as original as possible but as you said it needs to be safe. Unfortunately some of the original iron may need to go to keep this safe.
