The stock brakes would be more powerful on a truck that size than adding on light dity disc brakes. changing to disk brakes big enough to stop a truck that size would be quite expenxsive as you woudl have to use somerting out of a Dodge 4500 or 5500 for right size brakes. Personally i wouldrebuild the stock brakes and ad a power booster or hydro boost. On the steering I have the same opinion. light duty saginaw like people use in many PW conversions would be too small. So skinny tires for easier steeringor install
a set up out of a medium duty truck.
