Thanks a lot! I'm still mulling it over in my head, and won't decide anything, either way, overnight. The one GOOD thing that I have going for me is that I don't want something to impress anyone; I have a three year-old son and all I care about is having the means to get him or my wife to the hospital in ANY kind of weather, should something happen. But I need a truck, so it rules out an Army ambulance or Carryall (even though those are awesome looking). We can't afford something "road ready"- the $500 for the one I talked about would take me a month to save up. I could buy the near-complete, really rotten one for $600 and use it as a donor for all except the glass and rear gearset (the owner says they are shot), then the only question would be how well any one mechanical component worked... a HUGE "if" and a year's pay worth of miscallaneous parts just to make it start, go, and stop. Of course, I could always just buy a 70's PW and do a frame swap. But then there'd be the rust EVERYWHERE problem on the body. I dunno. Maybe someone has an extra one laying around. I hope!
