I started with a pile of rusty parts, now just over 7 (seven) years and around $9000 in to it and still a fair way to go. IMHO you should get the best you can afford to start with - especially if you want to drive it anytime soon. 4 years in I could have bought a driver for 2/3 of what I have in this truck - if I had done that and kept this for spares, I would have been on the road some time ago.
