What do you think about this WM300?

Well, I got a tip from an old acquaintence last night about a possible Power Wagon that's literally so obvious that nobody's ever even seen it. I hopped in the wife's car, and the trip began early this afternoon. After driving past it, I knew what it was instantly. I stopped by the house it was behind... nobody home. Did an address/phone number search... no luck. So, I stopped at the nearest neighbor's house. This guy's German Shepard wanted to eat me for dinner, so he was pretty quick about telling me the owner of the property's name. I drove around for a while, then stopped and asked an elderly gentleman for a phone book. I found the number, called it, and was told it was her son's and he probably wouldn't sell it. After getting his number, I grabbed a beer and a smoke, then called. He said all he really wanted from the truck were the front lockouts, which were aftermarket. It's a '54 WM300, no engine, no trans, no transfer case, no rear gearset. All of the emblems are gone, it has a wooden flatbed on it, all of the glass is cracked (the driver's side window is shattered), is missing the steering column, speedo, glove box door, bumper, front fenders, and master cylinder. For some reason, it has 20" wheels on it with 14.00x20 tires on it... looks like the mudbogger from hell. I opened the passenger door- lots of rot in all of the places I wished it didn't. I opened the driver's door and it fell off. Literally. The bolts had been taken out, luckily enough. The rockers, windshield frame, back bottom of the cab, lower door pillars and bottoms of the doors are shot. BUT, he said he'd take $500 for it. It's a big basket case, but I want one so badly that it's been giving me nightmares for months. What to do?
