Not being a mechanical wizard I would agree with you both, and as I said that argument was put forth by a third party(John Minyard). However it does seem that the wear would be better if they are moving vs resting on whatever bearing or bushing is carrying them and getting pounded up and down by whatever punishment the road is delivering, without rotatting, John seemed to be adamant about it but that was John.
