Propane tanks, which many people just want rid of, would be another source for a receiver. I'm thinking why pay a receiver attached to the compressor, and the freight to ship it, when most anything can be a receiver. If you're worried about it blowing up, do like the steam guys do and hydrostatically test it. That just means fill it totally full of water, pressurize (even with a bicycle pump) to maybe 20% over your max compressor pressure, and see if it holds. When any pressure vessel is totally full of water, it can't explode. All that will happen even if a seam totally fails, is the water will get out.
