Kaegi's suggestion of drilling the bolt out is likely to work. You might be able to drill and tap to the next size. (From 5/16" to 3/8" or 3/8" to 7/16")
If you have a wire welder and can just tap the trigger to shoot a little weld on the end of the bolt, do that until you can weld the nut on. Maybe that would work?
I would try anything before replacing it.
