Hi Tom. How's winter treating you? We have about 10 degrees with well below 0 in the wind chill factor. I wish we would get some snow to keep the ground from freezing.
Dave. I would suggest if you don't buy the shift lever mechanism in reproduction, you might be able to make a simple, separate lever for the brake to slow the spool down. Having a spool spin freely while unwinding is not a good thing (as you probably know).
