Unless you're big into graphics, I see absolutely no reason to pay the extra money to own a Mac. I've owned 2 computers in my 10 years of the computer age, A $500 Compaq & now a $400 Dell. Neither have ever been broken to the point I had to pay someone to fix it.
Yes, I've had to reload the OS twice but both times my own fault clicking on infected links.
I use my computer a minimum of 8hrs a day, I never ever shut it off, it doesn't lock up...what reason would I buy a Mac?
My wife has a Mac. Yes it's very pretty with a big expensive screen but it doesn't do anything any faster than my cheap old PC other than graphics & certain other specialized applications that are of absolutely no use to 99.9% of the population.
Save your money for trucks, buy an average Dell or HP & definitely DO NOT spend over $500 on a computer because one thing is 100% for sure...in 3 months it'll just be another old computer worth zip.
Spend some time educating yourself on which sites to stay away from & which email attachments to never ever open.
You can usually tell which guys spend the most time on the "adult video" sites...these are the guys who constantly have computer issues & virus's :) :)
I'll always remember a funny story when my father came into work & asked me to fix his computer. He said he was working away paying bills online last night & when he woke up & went to his Homepage...it wasn't Google anymore like usual...it was now some site called "Babe Net"
Ha Ha Ha!
I told him that I doubted his story...then fixed it for him ;)
