I suppose someone could have grafted a 6x frame to a PW frame but unlikely. the 6x6 chassis are just not that rare. they pop up for sale regularly. the stock PW frame is not long enough for the 6x suspension. nor would it be strong enough. IF you search the archives for power brakes you can find many answers to ways people have converted to dual circuit systems. I cant find any spring specs on in my manuals but I done see why that set up coudlnt handle 2 to 3 tons regularly. I have hauled 2 tons in a WC52 and in a 49 B1 PW. made the ride excellent! But if it was a daily use situation of heavy loads I would not do it with out power brakes and lots of maintenance by the manual on the running gear. grease grease grease. well maintained equipment can last a long time. But with a 65 year old chassis you probably have go thru most the parts. at least clean, adjust, re seal, etc. the 6x6 rear suspension design is still in use today. verr reliable.
