Not only deer, but pets and people. I've seen them setting in pastures along side cattle on the west side of CA and LA and other cities, cat have been spotted stalking small children. The nut that got the legislation passed did set up an 800 number we could call in the event we were being attacked, LOL on that one.
It has had a substantial effect on the herds since deer are one of their primary food sources. If I knew how to post pictures, I'd post some of a pack Mule kicking the crap out of a cat.
