Kevin;

May I suggest you do not use a 1 & 1/4" bore MC. I highly recommend you use a
1 & 5/16" bore MC. This is available from NAPA as PN # 39017. This was used on 1 ton Chevy's. This larger MC will give you 15 to 20% more reserve pedal. I originally
tried using a 1 & 1/4" bore MC back in 2000. Good brakes, but the pedal would be almost to the floor on a hard stop. The larger MC gave me nice reserve pedal on hard stops, about 1/2 way down. This MC is for disk brakes and thus does not have residual pressure check valves. You will need to add a 10 psi Residual pressure check valve for the rear drum brakes. No check valve for the front disks. Also since your using rear drum's, you will not need a proportion valve. Proportion valves are only needed with a 4 wheel disk system. You can buy a 10 psi residual pressure check valve from Summit Racing, they are not much money. To fully enjoy the benefits of front disks, i suggest you run some type of brake booster system. I did try running 4 wheel disks on my Carryall with out a booster. While the truck would stop, I knew in that one time emergency, it would not stop as desired. I added a booster and had brakes equal to my RAM CTD. All my trucks run the above mentioned MC and Hydroboost. All my trucks have brakes equal to any current production pickup.

I have not done a dual circuit MC in the OEM location. Go to the first page of the forum, click on LINKS. Then go down to Ken and Linda's Power Wagon Restoration link. Ken and Linda did a nice brake conversion in the OEM location, good pictures. Also during your conversion, give all your old brakes lines a good inspection, maybe even replace them. Good brakes are your life.

Paul
