I have never had good luck with JB weld on anything. I've used the regular and quick-drying kind, and always have problems with it not curing well (stays soft or rubbery) or not sticking well. When I need a metal-filled epoxy, I used Titan Super-Weld (might be a different brand name now, but it's still called Super-Weld) and it's always worked well for me. On my first M37, which I got about 10 years ago, I built up windshield frames that were about 50% rusted out on the lower channels with it, and they're still fine. I cleaned the loose rust off, primed it, built it up with the metal-filled epoxy, ground the outside flat, and painted them with rattle-can paint. I caulked the glass in place with polyurethane window caulk so as not to have to buy the rubber mouldings. I'm surprised at how well it's held up. This is a real beater truck so I wasn't concerned with being 100% authentic. I have not had any recurrence of rust on the windshield frame.
