fuel system gremlin?

engine runs great,but stalls because too little gas getting to the carburator too slow. gas filter is empty and gets a trickle of gas. Is the gas pump tired? Just replaced another one with it a couple of months ago that was acting the same. Any two cents worths? Thanx I appreciate advice,help.
