I agree with most of the advice already given.
and with you on using a diesel whenever I can. But in this case I couldn't justify the cost on only a DC welder.
You can do so much more with ac/dc unit.
Beside they make a Great backup Gen set for power failures.
I have a Miller here that is also a 20kw Gen.,dose a great job of keeping us warm and the beverage cold,when Ice/storms has brought down the power lines.
