Hi Jake,

Good to see your post. There are a couple of things to check. First, did you use a VPWs or Roberts Motor Parts windshield weather strip? Regardless of which you used, were you able to install the entire strip uncut? Or did you have to cut it? If you had to cut it to fit, you may have installed it inside out. The way the weatherstrip goes in looks backwards. The more continuous face goes towards the cab, and the face with the ridge goes towards the frame. If you try to install it inside out, you will have too much length and will have to cut it to fit lengthwise and it will not seal against the cab. If you install it correctly, it will fit just fine.

Second, have you tried adjusting the hinges inside the valance that contains the wiper motors? If the hinges are adjusted properly, the windshield frame will stay tight against the opening in the cab. If the frame is adjusted too high or too low in the hinges, it will not fit properly. Loosen the screws that attach the frame to the hinges. Ask your dad to sit on the hood and position the frame properly within the opening and push it really snug. Then tighten the screws.

Good luck!
